On Monday January 25th, “USA Today” released the results of the quarterly survey of 50 economists. According to the 50 economists' median estimate President Obama’s $787 billion stimulus package saved 1.2 million jobs without the 1.2 million jobs, the 10% December unemployment rate would have been 10.8%.
What “USA Today” failed to mention is that if you divide the $787 billion by 1.2 million the cost per job saved is $655,000. According to O'Leary,"Understanding what is happening in "Big" government, is a matter of simple math.
