A gang in Peru allegedly sold human fat and may have killed to replenish their supply, investigators say.

Four suspects have been arrested and charged with murder, the national attorney general's office said Wednesday. Investigators were trying to determine if more than 60 people who vanished in a mountainous area in central Peru were killed by the gang, CNN reported.

Investigators said two of the suspects were carrying a container of human fat when they were arrested Nov. 3 at a shipping company. The fat was allegedly sold commercially in Peru and Europe.
