E'Twaun Moore helped Purdue break open a close game in the second half Friday and the No. 7 Boilermakers pulled out a 74-63 win over South Dakota State.

Moore made 10-of-18 shots from the field and scored 22 points in what was Purdue's second win to start the season. The Jackrabbits fell to 2-1.

The Boilermakers had just a two-point lead at halftime before moving out to a 16-point advantage with 6 minutes to go.

Robbie Hummel added 14 points for Purdue, which made only 2-of-14 from 3-point range. Purdue, however, held South Dakota State to 17 field goals and forced the Jackrabbits into 18 turnovers.

Clint Sargent led South Dakota State with 16 points.
