Kosovo officials are urging the country's citizens to stage a grand reception for former U.S. President Bill Clinton.

In preparing for Clinton's Monday trip to Pristina, Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu and Prime Minister Hasim Thaci are urging the country to "organize a grand reception for their great friend" to mark an "historic" moment for the country, the Serbian news Web site B92 reported.

"The Republic of Kosovo will be visited tomorrow by President Bill Clinton, the man who led the largest humanitarian action in modern history for saving the people of Kosovo," Sejdiu said.

Thaci reportedly added: "The contribution of President Clinton to the freedom and independence of the Republic of Kosovo, and the contribution of every U.S. government was exceptional."

B92 said Kosovar police have assured "all necessary measures have been taken to regulate traffic tomorrow in Pristina" during Clinton's visit, which is expected to include an address the Kosovo parliament.
