The alternative rock band Blur has won the award for best headline performance of 2009 for its closing-night set at the Glastonbury music festival last June.

The BBC said the group was presented with the honor at Thursday night's U.K. Festival awards ceremony at the O2 arena in London.

Blur lead singer Damon Albarn also took home the festival fitty prize for being the hottest male performer, while Lily Allen snagged the award in the female category.

Kings of Leon picked up the prize for the anthem of the summer, and Florence and the Machine was named the year's best breakthrough act, the British broadcaster said.

Scotland's T in the Park reportedly won the award for best toilets and Glastonbury earned the gong for best major festival.
