What’s Wright And Wrong Here

President Obama is in Mad Town today November fourth 2009. His Education reform speech at Wright Middle School was well received and appreciated despite the difficult driving mess it created for those of us bound for downtown. 87% of James C. Wright students are minority. The school is named after Reverend James C Wright our now revered civil rights leader.

“It’s time to make education America’s national mission,” Obama preached. “We need to reward good teachers and replace bad teachers.” Congratulations Wright middle school and President Obama!

D. C. Everest Junior High School students were much more somber as they sent our legislators including Governor Jim Doyle a challenge – Pledge in writing that if you are arrested for Driving Under the Influence  (DUI) you will resign from office. “Good Luck! This is Wisconsin.” Seemed the initial reply to the still grieving students. Governor Doyle refused to sign the pledge from the freshman class.

“Lacey’s Law” is a petition the 9th graders are sending to change drunk driving penalties. A drunk driver killed their classmate Lacey Meinel. The dangers of drunk driving in Wisconsin is as well known as watching out for deer. There are nights my now Adult daughter warns me to stay off the road. Her awareness and warning to me about just how many impaired drivers there are is like preaching to the choir. I have been advocating change for three decades. I am tired. I love the pledge idea and encourage the freshmen to never give up trying to honor Lacey and all the families affected by this national epidemic.

Judicial abuse of women and families in Wisconsin transcends impaired driving. It is not uncommon for a girl to be tossed into a holding cell for four days without visitation or seeing a prosecutor or Judge for alleged petty theft. The University of Wisconsin System reported an Alum possibly taking $200 when serving as a volunteer and Secretary of a student health service. Later it was learned it was the University that was in default to the accused family for $1,444. The University may now lose it’s right to free use of equestrian privileges enjoyed for years owned by the insulted girl and her affected family. Those who live in glass houses?

A card-carrying member of AARP is being aggressively foreclosed on for insisting Bank correction of a mishap. In this economy, she has had all lines called due on her businesses and stock piling of ‘jumping the gun ‘bogus fees and penalties.

A girl the courts knew was charged undue penalty interest on a canceled and terminated service, charged delivery services she was told were initially free, and verbally abused on the phone by the owner and again in small claims court is being forced to pay extensive penalty interest and legal fees for the entire time the retailer refused to produce a clean and accurate invoice. If any of these women try to fight the factory of punishment against women in the judicial system, their liabilities will escalate beyond belief. Please email me your experiences with out of control judicial or banking malpractice or abuse against women and families. Obama needs to appoint a sober and serene Justice Czar.
