Two Canadian high school students faced charges Friday after two youths were stabbed and another beaten with a pipe at a London, Ontario, high school.
Police didn't disclose what sparked the violence at the Sir George Ross vocational secondary school during the lunch break Thursday, but said two youths who can't be identified were arrested within an hour of the attacks.
The high school and a nearby elementary school were locked down as more than 12 police cars and three ambulances surrounded the yard where the teenagers were attacked, the London Free Press reported Friday.
One of the two male stabbing victims, a 17-year-old, was hospitalized and in serious condition Friday, while the second, 16, was in fair condition. A 14-year-old boy who was beaten with a pipe was treated at the scene, the report said.
The school is in an area where police know several gangs roam, the newspaper said. The high school reopened Friday and trauma counselors were on hand for the 450 students and staff, school officials said.
