The animated "How to Train Your Dragon" flew to the top of the U.S. box office, raking in $43.3 million during its first weekend.
"Alice in Wonderland" was second with $17.3 million after three weekends in the No. 1 spot.

"Hot Tub Time Machine" was third for the weekend with $13.65 million; "The Bounty Hunter" was fourth with $12.4 million; "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" fifth with $10 million; "She's Out of My League" sixth with more than $3.52 million; "Green Zone" seventh with $3.35 million; "Shutter Island" eighth with more than $3.17 million; and "Repo Man" ninth with more than $3.04 million.
"Our Family Wedding" rounded out the Top 10 movies with $2.2 million.
